As promised, an apple picture for Mrs. Roosevelt. And why the stickers? Because this time of year, we buy apples at Safeway. We are also enjoying the petunias that refuse to fail in the heat and finally, another picture of Jan's Black Eyed Susans. They are so pretty.

Today besides many other things (the things that cost me a small fortune), we scrummed FREE apples from me twat neighbours apple tree.....

I was gonna do a twaddle post, ya see, its technically not scrumming cos the branches are hanging over me garden fence :) actally for some reason almost all the branches that the apples are growing on are on my side of the fence LOL.... so, ours this week do not have stickers lol and even though they are eating apples they are well firm enough to make apple crumbles with :).....

LOVE the petunias......

Hevy showers this morning and sunshine this after, except during the sunshine 1 1/2 was spent in a computer shop LOL

What a lovely collection. All of these are exquisite. What a year for petunias... I was studying mine today and amazed how they have endured the heat.

Very nice...and such honesty on the apples.

:)

We always get our apples from Safeway...isn't that where they grow?

I am so glad you stole free apples from the neighbor. :) We live in the wheat and apple capital of the US and I am always and forever a little bitter about buying apples at Safeway. Guess I should wean myself from off-season apples to gain mental health, eh? I read the MOST interesting book recently, 'Animal, Vegetable and Mineral'. As a Brit, you most likely would be baffled because you eat locally produced food, by and large. But alas and alack, we are Americans and we don't. So nip a couple of apples when you can, from whoever you can, and think of me. Growing up, we had a whole route of places where we'd go to steal apples. sigh.

Mrs. Roosevelt, I am a little pissy at the petunia hybridizers. Used to be petunias that branched and fluffed out nicely but now...they stand like corn stalks. Dawns on me that the hybrizers grew that into them because we have to buy more to plant closer to get that same no-dirt look. I am SO on those greedy bastards! But the hot July has produced such nice August flowers. Hope you are having a blast in Kellogg. Good times!

There he is! My Foolish friend! (whenever I address you as The Fool or some derivative thereof, I am reminded of the Christ Child's favorite little boy book: Stupid Emillion. Of course, the tag line repeated at every juncture in the story is "But Stupid Emillion wasn't so studid after all, was he?") Did you sharpen all your pencils? Did you get a few new shirts? Did you... do all the other stuff that a teacher does to get ready for school?! We'll be looking for a full report here on the start-up of School 08. Don't delay or disappoint. ;)
