Back at ya! Boston! In two weeks!

I know it's not exotic, but it's a big trip for a little Idaho girl. Especially all on my own.

Yay! Can I get a post card? Will you be getting a new mug or do you have one already?

Toad: this is my time. But still it feels funny not to be worrying about making practice ontime and hustling around getting the gifts for the birthday parties this weekend and ...

Mellers: you're the jammy sod!

T: Boston is AWESOME. My daughter lived there for two years so I was there frequently. Take the Freedom Walk. If you have time, do not miss the Duck Tour. Most people say it's their favorite. (laughing) The USS Constitution in the harbor is flat incredible; you need to photo it for The Otis. And for a sobering moment, climb to the top of Bunker Hill, a key battle in our drive for independence. The size of the thing will blow you away. Not the size of a soccer field....Upon these things our freedom and identity as Americans was established. After that, you'll want to go to the Black Rose, the oldest Irish pub in the country. Southie is actually my favorite part of Boston. Watch 'Good Will Hunting' before you go; it's all there. The other thing that I never miss in Boston is driving by the crew houses along the river, MIT, Harvard and others, wannabes, have these beauuutiful structures where they keep their boats. Really cool. Finally: it will be quite hot, or raining, hot, in Boston. Steamy any way you slice it. It's unlikely that you'll get into Fenway, but if you do, go to Petite Roberto, in the neib, first. Also, Bartley's for hamburgers in Cambridge is a complete must. For further copious catty details go to April 2006 in my archives. You'll find stuff. Be safe.

MamaJ: Post card it is! And no, I do not have an Helsinki mug or a Russian mug. We're gonna see, aren't we? ;)

I have heard a lot about their formula. If you find it there, report back as to what it's all about. ;)

Helsiki is a very green city. Funny, we used to make great fun of those Finnlanders back in MN when I was growing up. Us Norweigans and the Swedes thought we were superior. They lived in Finntown. They were the butt of all the jokes, like the Poles, elsewhere.

Have a wonderful trip.
