I'll trade you...you get back over to my place and give me a better glimmer on your slant on love-trust, and I'll toss this one...

I like the visual association approcah. Cool.

Let me pause first.

H'lo JBelle. First, I have to ground the terms somehow...so, allow me a loose frame for reference:

1. hope - expectancy and desire

2. faith - belief in truth

3. faith - loyalty and allegiance

4. faith - acceptance of god's will

In such a framing, I will take number 4. I don't trust desire and truth. Loyalty and allegiance can be quite blind. I will take door number 4, with the key word being "acceptance."

Faith, for me.

Even if they are bulbs.

Some dorky freak once wrote this:

"You must have faith." The woman said.

"Faith in what? Faith is nothing but the blind belief in a fantasy." He said, with some bitterness.

"For some, maybe. But for many, faith is the act of balancing hope against doubt. Do you have hope?" She said.

Still, I think you'll have to wait until the flowers bloom in order to know what they are.

Faith, but I'm biased.

okay. it wasn't my intent to get involved in this but rather to listen and observe how spring as symbolized by the tulips in the jar comes to others.

For me, it comes both ways: by faith and by hope. I was saying just last night that two things about me you can take to the bank: I am faithful and I am loyal. These things are hardwired so deeply in me that it would not surprise me if they each became my fatal flaw. I believe in tomorrow and as well, when you win my heart, you have it for life. I am faithful and I am loyal.

But I have hope as well because...

I need to. I need to keep hope that things will change, that good will always triumph over evil, that hard work will pay off, and in the end, nice people will finish near the front. I just hope it turns out that way. And hoping is different from faith because it is fluid and evolving, where faith is deep seated and still. I get up and go to work because I have complete faith spring will come again but I whistle as I walk to work because I hope, I hope spring will come soon....

Interesting.

I see faith as a verb, I suppose. Balacing hope against doubt, specifically.

To use your analogy, you're not sure spring will come again (doubt), but you hope it will(hope). Balancing these two and continuing life regardless, to me, is faith.

Beautiful pic. For me spring always evokes feelings of hope. Who can't but feel hope with those bulbs faithfully coming up.
