So The Americans swim the relay of a lifetime. Black guy, old guy, steel stud and other guy. The volleyball player's parents get stabbed sightseeing with a guide. The Bird's Nest glows in the evening light, calling to me with siren-like seduction. Phelpsie destroys the world record in the 200. Beach volleyball? we have dominion in beach volleyball? and the basketball team finally gets it together.

Love the Olympics. Just love 'em.

  1. My goodness, is the Olympics going on? I am so out of touch with the goings on of the world right now. I haven't got cable...and I've only been reading the local rags. Still, in some way...the ignorance is bliss. And now, I have an excuse to hang out at Duggan's Pub - so as to catch up on the fun on their telly. Thanks for cluing me in, Cheech...

Take care, and best to you.

  3. Hey, hanging out at Duggan's sounds like a little slice of heaven. Have a Stella for me, or at least a Kokanee.

  4. Mrs. Roosevelt, this picture was taken at high noon on a hot Saturday. Was able to get the camera to perform for me nonetheless and lo and behold, the bumblbee flies in and starts to feed. I have about two dozen shots of him and I liked this one the best.

  6. Well, Lindsey, beach volleyball has always seemed more like a retirement plan for Misty May than a real sport. I think, actually, beach volleyball was invented for Misty because she's too old for the real volleyball team and too feisty to quit. So why I am surprised when she and her 6 footofsunshine buddie Carrie hold international dominion in beach volleyball? My bad. You're totally right.

Anyone else here care to chime in on the indomitable Misty May?
