Had a few more shots of summer that I've been saving. These are a few of my personal favorites. The white hydrangea is for Mrs. Roosevelt; pinky, right? Really pinky.

Wow! This was worth the wait. What is the first flower? Yes, you are right about the pink in the bloom. It has to be the whole acid level in the soil. The rose color is so brilliant. Keep the pictures coming!
After I have studied your blog header the trees almost seem like they have eyes. Did you notice that?

:) I did notice that. About a million times. When you walk in the aspen forest, you are never alone. Not only do the eyes watch you, but the trees shimmer and whisper as you walk. It's like a holy feast with anyone and everyone you have ever known or known about, with all your favorite authors attending. Rocky Mountain high has a very real dimension for me.

The first picture, thank you soooo much for asking, is a lace cap hydrangea! true! is that an amazing shot?! I have been saving it. It is a white lacecap, so the leave are white and the little teeny flowers are green to the naked eye. When I was poking in there with a macro lens, I could hardly believe what I was seeing. I took a dozen of these but chose this one because the colors are so pronounced and delicate. This is my favorite shot of summer. I absolutely dare someone, anyone, to copy it!

You're an artist my friend... you not only grow and coax from the earth the most extraordinary blooms but to capture them like this is something else.

I'm envious but I'm not a thief. :)

omigosh. (purring) With my disposition, it's probably entirely fair to say I'm an artist! hahaha!

And you, my dear friend of long tenure, have had more original ideas TONIGHT than some people have in a lifetime. You don't have to copy beginning amateur's work when they get a lucky shot!

That first shot is one to be proud of. The focus is as delicate as the flower, and the composition is wonderful. Kudos!
