Sighhhhhhhhhh.......... do they have little houses in clearings in the woods there? room for a few chickens and a little veggie plot? within walking/hobbling distance from the waters edge? not to many bears or snakes about? with a woodburning stove for the winter?...

Nothing more beautiful than a lingering sunset on the lake. Love the last picture!

Very nice, I am envious, I work and I pay taxes. Yet my taxes do not pay for a view like this.
Damn the luck!

ah, Mel. There's lots of undeveloped land left but doggies, is it expensive. Only people who come from places where real estate costs appreciably more or where the currency is worth more than the dollar can buy in these days. ;)

Mrs. Roosevelt, I really worked hard to get that last catamaran in the dusk. It was a white boat that bounced light everywhere--problem was there was no place to go with it in the deep dusk. This one isn't so great but the best of the bunch at any rate as I so wanted to remember racing this boat home. It was a killer evening on the lake.

Josh, You too can have a piece of Lake Coeur d'Alene any summer you want. Have the plane stop on the way to Homer. You'll love it here.

And very good reasons indeed. It's absolutely stunning. Sometimes there really is no place like home.
