Well, life goes on and on and on. Booked the caves at Lascaux yesterday. I have wanted to go for so long I can't believe it's finally happening. Can't.believe.it. I have read accounts of people who go and cry. I wonder how it will touch me? I wonder if it will be enough? Maybe it's just better to read about them . Maybe not. Maybe seeing is worth it. I'm gonna find out. Finally!

Wow..... I never even knew these existed, fank you for opening up my mind teaching me more about our world...... Ive read all your links lol..... and Im gobsmacked.... Im putting them on me list of places to go........ I have a nephew that owns the most beautiful old gitts and dove houses that he has converted for people to stay, so next year I might go over there and visit and then go visit those caves....

The only caves Ive been to that took my breath away were the Caves Of Nerja - we went back a few times cos me X's family owned a villa in nerja so we would often fly over for a holiday.....

But those caves you are going to are a different kinda cave..... amazing....

I'm weeping.

..one day..one day...it'll be me going to those caves...

JBelle, if it were me going, I'd think about the enormity of history between what you see on the walls, and the present day....how much has changed over that time...how humanity has changed...and how little as well.

Wow. To touch history...unwritten history...unwritten human ancient history.

Enjoy them Jbelle...I know you will...

Wow Phil, you are a buzzkill and excuse me for saying, but kind of not nice about it either. One of the forums I read has a rule about starting posts with "um": "Don't start your posts with "um" or "uh" or words like that. Nine times out of ten, those words precede a snotty correction directed at another poster. It's rude and dismissive and it drives the staff nuts, so please, don't do it."

I have no idea how your comment is being interpreted by other readers, but I read it as a dismissive and snotty comment. I, for one, am thrilled my mom gets to do something she's been talking about doing for, AT LEAST, the last 15 years, real thing or not. She's probably been talking about it longer, but I wasn't paying attention. I'm sad I'm not going with her, but am glad my little brother is because she can share it with one of her children who can appreciate the experience with her.
I hope you have a fabulous time, mom!

Thanks, Peed. :) Phil probably doesn't understand. And he'd probably be floored if he knew I was granted "researcher" status, don't you think?

One of my dreams was to go to Midnight Mass at the Vatican. Well, we got to go in 2006. What an experience! I was excited, scared, overwhelmed, and shocked all at the same time. Excited to be able to make the trip, scared because this was a new experience for me, overwhelmed by the whole event, but mostly shocked at the way priests were jumping up or hanging from the pillars to take photos of the Pope. However, none of this detracted from the fact that this was a dream that really came true.
Have a great time jbelle.

I will put out the bait one more time, hopefully I will get a bite. I have no idea where you are, but have a good time and maybe someday you can tell me about it. Ever since the blogfest I have been trying to get you to come to 'Sticks and Stones' to no avail. A couple of times you were planning a visit and someone even mentioned you were planning a trip that week, but nothing ever materialized. I have had a special stick awaiting you that is now being eyed every week by a young girl around here who someday will become the Stick Lady. If it is not claimed soon, I will give it to her because she is moving and I may never see her again. But, like I said, I have been saving this one stick just for you since February, so it needs to end up in your care. I realize you are very anonymous and nobody I know even knows you, but I would keep it a secret if that's what is required. If I don't hear from you soon I will finally give up, and maybe some day our paths will cross as they were supposed to. The Stickman

I was in Seattle all day today and just got home. Unlike you wealthy retirees, I have a paid position downtown that keeps me...in plane tickets. :)

I am out of town all next week, leaving this weekend. I really will try to get over before I go. Really will! Don't give up on me and don't you dare give my stick away. xxoo

Don't you dare!

It's funny, the wealthy retiree's statement. I rent, am looking for work, and have absolutely no income whatsoever. But, my love is the sticks and I will always just give them away. I should be out today and tomorrow afternoon, till about dark, and of course the weekend. I look forward to the meeting, finally. A lot of the kids that come by think I'm rich, otherwise why would I give these sticks away that take so much time to fashion. It's for the love of doing something and then just giving them away to any and all. I teach them that everyone in their lives will want their dollar, but it's no good at my little place. I will check this site for the next few days to find out when you might be coming by, as I would hate to miss you for any reason. If you get some time, write it here and let me know and I will be sure to be here. The Stickman

It's days beyond your post but I'm just getting in. Excuse me.

You know, I had a good smile reading this because just this morning (or was it late last night?) I had this overwhelming feeling/thought/awareness out of nowhere (I believe I was in the middle of brushing my teeth at the time) that went something like this: "Jbelle's going somewhere again."

So, I knew you were going to be travelin' again and I wondered where to this time. I now have my answer! Cool!

Have a fabu time and how great to have the Golden One along.
